government contract bids in your area check out the local newspaper.
In the classified section under Legal Notices you will see what the
government is intending to buy from local vendors. Call the contact
number and order the solicitation. Many times they will refer you to a
web site and the bid package containing all the specifications can be
downloaded.

Most
cities, county governments, state and federal agencies maintain there
own websites where countless opportunities can be found. Follow the
links to the Purchasing or Procurement offices. This is where the
bidding opportunites are usually listed.
